Therapy

There are countless therapists available to you, but the trick is trying to find the best person to help with your individual need.

individual circumstance and goals

  • Do you have specific mental health concerns you want to address such as OCD, PTSD, or ADHD? (if you aren’t sure, consider getting professionally evaluated)

  • Are you seeking help with relationships or family problems? You may benefit from marriage and family therapy, or couples therapy/counseling.

  • Are you looking for more of a support group that shares the same experience as you? You may want to try therapists involved with support groups, or group therapy sessions

Affordability

Therapy can be costly, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting the help you need.

  • First check with your insurance plan and primary healthcare provider

  • If you’re a student, check with your counselors and look into what your school provides, those tend to be either free of charge, or more affordable for students

Researching

While the internet can have lots of helpful resources, it can also be overwhelming to search for things. Start with some of these links when researching therapists near you.
