Workshops
Art can not only allow us to express ourselves in a healthy way, but studies have also shown that art can improve concentration, self-esteem, relief stress, and reduce the risk of depression and anxiety.
As a result, we’ve decided to host workshops and attend community events in order to spread our message and give individuals a safe space to express themselves.
The Aspen Challenge is a program that poses questions about issues that impact the community in a particular region and challenges students to create a solution that addresses the problem and attempts to solve it. This year challengers, who are all from community organizations in San Diego, have asked SDUSD school teams to think about the homelessness situation, coastal conservation efforts, chronically absent students, the mental health of the youth, and the stigma around immigration status. Mediums of Mental Health is a program that has stemmed from this challenge.
